GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATION
Gandhi Jayanti, celebrated on October 2nd every year, is a significant event in India to honor the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. At Carmel Convent School, Junagadh we celebrated this on 30th September 2023, with great enthusiasm and reverence. The aim was to instill the values of truth, non-violence, and simplicity that Mahatma Gandhi stood for among our students.
The day began with a special morning assembly dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. The students, teachers, and staff gathered on the school ground and the assembly commenced with the singing of the national anthem, followed by a prayer for peace and unity. Students delivered speeches highlighting the life, principles, and contributions of Mahatma Gandhi. These speeches emphasized the significance of truth, non-violence, and the power of passive resistance in achieving social change. Our 2nd standard student played the role of Mahatma Gandhi.
In line with Gandhi's belief in cleanliness, a cleanliness drive was conducted within the school and its surroundings. Students and staff actively participated in cleaning the premises and spreading awareness about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene.
